Hello Fred -

Don't know if this will reach you or not -

I saw your web page regarding Heald Engineering College and thought I'd drop you

a line.

My name is Don Montgomery, Heald EE class of April 1969.  I don't know if we've ever

crossed paths at Heald or not, I graduated their ET program in September 1960 and en-

rolled in the EE program same month, with many sojourns along the way before grad-

uation.

Sanner was Dean and Roy Hurd one of the EE instructors when I started the EE program.

Roy is now president of Empire College in Santa Rosa.  And who can forget the ubiqui-

tous Max Tye!

I've worked for HP/Agilent nearly 26 years and have run across a number of Heald EE/ME

grads - I worked with Tony Pires a number of years at HP before his retirement.

And yes, Heald Engineering College was the best investment of my career.  I was

very sorry to hear of its closing.

 Regards

Don Montgomery, Santa Rosa

Hi Fred,

You'll probably need to set up a website for Heald Engineering College Alumni

where former graduates can log into a vistor's book.  During all my working

years, I have not met another Heald Engineering graduate.  I'm retired now and

sometimes wonder what happened to my former classmates.  During my early

years, I worked in the aerospace industry.  During my middle years, I worked in

the

medical instrument industry.  During my latter years, I worked in the

computer industry.  Just like Heald Engineering, most of the companies I worked

for

no longer exist.  If it wasn't for Heald Engineering, I'd probably spent my

life picking pineapples in Hawaii.  I currently live in Cupertino, CA.

Hello.  I attended Heald Engineering College 1970-1974.  Do you know if there is any way I can get my records/transcripts?   Yours is the only web page I found about Heald.

HI:I graduated from Heald Engineering College in Jan of 1971 with a BSEE.  Here is a short version of my story: I was in the Navy from 1958 to 1962 as a radioman.  After discharge I applied for a job with the CIA as a communicator and was accepted in 1964. I was assigned to the Middle East.  I met my wife in Baghdad, she is from northern California.  After Baghdad I spent almost 2 years in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968.  After Vietnam I decided to take leave without pay and attend Heald Engineering College.  I graduated in Jan 1971 and returned to the CIA as an engineer.  I spent tours in Africa, and 2 tours in the Far East after that.  I also spent some time in a lot of other places in the world.  I retired on 1 June 1990.  In 1994 I returned to Amissville, Virginia where I built a new house.  I was born and raised in Amissville.  I was surprised to find so much info on the old Heald Engineering College.  My uncle by marriage graduated there in 1938 with a Mechanical Engineering degree. I still have the brochure that I found about Heald and the curriculum they offered in 1968. I have several friends that were classmates that I still correspond with from time to time.  All are in California. What got me interested in seeing if there was anything on the WWW about Heald was thinking about an instuctor that I used to get into real arguments with.  His name was Mr. Hunter and taught English and History.  He was about the most liberal fellow I've ever met and wonder if he is still alive and living in the Bay area.  Do you remember him and what was his first name?  Without a first name I have no idea how to try to contact him.   It's been interesting in seeing how many folks were so successful after graduating from Heald.

This is a great start on what Heald Engineering College was all about.  I graduated in January 1966 with a BSME.  Later a MBA from JFK, Orinda.  I remember in the basement of the building on Van Ness there was a lot of old pictures and memorabilia.  I wonder what happened to them?  Did HEC end when the building was sold and removed?

I taught the Jigs and Fixture class for a couple of years while attending classes.

Fond memories of:
